Here’s my next video, which features our week away at Easter in the Lake District. We stayed in Staveley, near Windermere, which gave us a great starting point for exploring the area.
The video features Lake Grasmere, including some friendly paddle-boarders, and also a really nice spot we found for a picnic just outside of Staveley itself.
We were spoilt with the weather, as you can see.
My new zoom came in very useful for the opening shot of the video!
Enjoy!

Hovering Thoughts – Spence
Rolling Heads – Unicorn Heads
How it Began – Silent Partner
Here’s my latest video from September 2018 when the water levels in the reservoirs across the country were very low. This gave us a rare chance to see the usually hidden Derwent village ruins, which are found in the Ladybower Reservoir.
I took the chance on a quiet evening to capture this footage, and was pleased with the resulting video.
Enjoy!

Kristina Budzhiashvili – Towards The Sun
Here is the first of seven episodes of my big drone video from our summer holiday. This first episode features Lac Chambon and Murol Castle.
The lake was stunning at dusk!
Music:
Garna Vutka – Romantic Wedding Piano
Nico Maximilian – Don’t Leave Our Earth Alone
Episode 2 – Chapelle Sainte Madeleine de Chalet
Here is the second of seven episodes of my big drone video from our summer holiday. This episode features a stunning Chapel called Chapelle Saint Madeleine de Chalet.
We were driving along the motorway and noticed it perched on the side of the mountain, so had to go and find it!
Music:
Matti Paalanen – Genesis
Episode 3 – Three Viaducts
Here is the third of seven episodes of my big drone video from our summer holiday. This episode features three viaducts, including Viaduc de Garabit (same designer as the Eiffel tower!), the Millau Viaduct (the worlds tallest bridge!), and finally Pont St-Nicolas de Campagnac.
We drove under, and then over the Millau Viaduct, which was an amazing experience!
Music:
Sweet Play – Flight
José Manuel González Núñez – Delirium
Episode 4 – Pont du Gard
Here is the fourth of seven episodes of my big drone video from our summer holiday. This episode features Pont du Gard, which is a 2000 year old Roman Aqueduct, and is a marvel of engineering and beauty.
To capture this video, I woke up at 5:30am, drove for around 35 minutes and then hiked for a further 25-30 minutes to reach the aqueduct just in time for the sunrise. It was well worth it!
Music:
Giustino Barletta – Quantum
Episode 5 – Sunflowers, Horses and Vines
Here’s episode five! It features a stunning field of sunflowers that we came across, the special turret that we stayed in for one night, and also some sunrise shots around Eguisheim.
Music:
DJ Nen – Red Summer
Episode 6 – Les Trois Chateaux
Here’s episode six, which features the Trois Chateaux. These impressive ruins sit above the beautiful town of Eguisheim in the Alsace region of France. I got there nice and early to get the sunrise.
There is also some footage of the near endless fields of vines that cover the Alsace region.
Music:
Antarctic Breeze – I Will Remember
Episode 7 – The Final Few Days
Here’s the final episode, which features Col de la Schlucht (a summer luge; great fun!), the Marin Le Meslee Monument, which is a monument to a WW2 French fighter pilot, and our final nights accommodation on Lac D’Ailette.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these seven episodes of our fantastic holiday around France! 🙂
My latest video has been put together using clips from a business trip I had up to the Lakes. I met up with a friend who took me up onto Queen Adelaide’s Hill, which gave fantastic views.
The other two remaining spots where on my way back down to Sheffield, which were the Sir John Barrow Monument and a random stop off outside the village of Austwick.
It was nice to show my camera drone some love after focussing on racing drones recently.
Enjoy!

Grégoire Lourme – The Secret Kingdom (Piano and Elves)
codemusic – Sunny Morning
This video was put together from footage taken whilst having a lovely walk on one of the first nice days of the year around Damflask Reservoir just outside of Sheffield.
Whilst going around, I also noticed a sailing club and will hopefully be making a video of their members sailing later in the year.
